Maintaining a Beautiful Lawn

Treeview Estates is nestled on the western edge of the Blue Mountains, with 16 acres of gorgeous landscaped gardens and open views of preserved wetlands and rolling hills. Treeview takes pride in the stunning lawns and green spaces throughout our community. The villa gardens and common outdoor areas are maintained through the efforts of our hardworking on-site Maintenance Team, along with our Treeview residents. As our Maintenance Manager, Craig Croucher, remarks, “Our lawns and gardens are key features of what makes Treeview so special and we take a great deal of time and care to look after all the plants and flowers.” And Craig is well placed to comment as he’s been part of the Treeview team since 2013!

Each Treeview villa has its own lawn and garden space for residents to enjoy, some larger than others depending on the resident is after. Whether you have a green thumb and choose to handle your gardening needs yourself, or you and your thumb prefer to leave it to the professionals, there are definitely ways to ensure your lawn stays green and healthy. Take advantage of our dedicated team of professionals and enjoy beautiful lawns with low maintenance, or manage the space yourself with the support and expertise available when you need it.

If your turf is new, regular watering is important to ensure the grass takes root. This process can take a few weeks. The hotter it is, the more often your turf needs to be watered. You’ll know your new turf isn’t getting enough water if it starts to get a grey tinge or shrinks up, creating gaps between rolls. Fertiliser can be applied to your lawn every three to four months. The professionals at Greenacres Turf Farm recommend Turfblend, about 5 kg for every 100m2, spread as evenly as possible. A thorough watering after application is necessary to dissolve the fertiliser into the soil beneath. Mowing can begin after about two weeks, with just a tip off the top. Keep your mower blades sharp to ensure a proper cut, and don’t cut your lawn too short.

At Treeview, residents are free to be creative with their lawn space. While our on-site Maintenance Team is always hard at work mowing and pruning and watering our amazing lawns, some of our residents prefer doing the work themselves. Owners can design their own garden space to enjoy and maintain and still rely on the added support of our dedicated team of professionals for their friendly advice and expert knowledge. There are some beautiful garden spaces around the village that our residents have created to enjoy and inspire!

The professionals on our Maintenance Team can help advise residents as to how best to care for their lawn and garden, or help set up additional services and have their lawn needs taken care of for them. Yet another valuable benefit to our Treeview residents.
